I think I liked the B/w on this one even better than the finished strip. Especially that 3rd panel. I’m really happy with how that turned out.

Now yer just showing off, man. Lol!! Beautiful strip. Great use of foreground to frame your shots and nice perspective shots!! Keep it up, Brother!!!
Thanks Man! I was trying to add “mystery” with all the crazy camera shots. Hey! We need to hang out sometime soon!
Man, this strip is gorgeous! I agree with you about panel 3. And I like how you’re moving the story along. Got inspired reading your “On Writing…” Had no idea it’s been fifteen years! I’m getting a better feel for you as a creator. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Mark! I have really struggled with writing strips since I started. Sometimes it seems easy, but thats usually when I start to get frustrated because it feels like I’m taking the easy way. Part of it is struggling with the format, 4 or 5 panel strips, twice a week, is pretty hard to develop characters and a story. But I think its also what I’ve really needed. I’m hoping in the next year to go to 3 a week, or possibly even 5 a week. It all depends on when I get to a point to where I feel like I can manage the process reliably.
How do you keep from chewing up your buffer? You’re like 4 months ahead, arent you? Do you just require yourself to do a certain number of strips each week?
I love this art! And the way you draw ordinary scenes and make them appear astounding is certainly talent and skill combined!
Ha! Thanks! I am almost certain it comes from sketching from real life. I draw people strolling around, or sitting eating pretty much every day. It makes it a lot easier when it comes to doing scenes like this.
