“Krak-oom” means “thunder” in Swahili.  I looked it up.  This is my first time EVER drawing rain!  I am so excited.  I’ve always wanted an excuse to draw rain.  But I never got around to doing it.  Having done it once, I can honestly say I’d like to do it again.  Its fun.  Now I know I like rain in real life and in art!

So this completes my second full week of doing comic strips!  It’s not been as hard as I thought it would be.  Each one gets a little easier, and the writing seems to be a lot more fun as well.  Although, I am basically practicing at this point.  There is a loose story arc for me to play with a lot of standard comic gags and themes.  Its like I have a new box of toys and I’m trying them all out.  As I get more comfortable, I’ll be able to write whole story arcs around them so that the gags are even funnier, and serve the story and the characters much better.

I’m also learning to refine the art.  This is probably my best strip so far.  The characters are getting enough room to breathe within the panel.  The word balloons and hand-lettering are finally starting to get a little cleaner and aren’t all over the place.  And this one actually made me laugh.  So here’s hoping the next couple of weeks go well too!

I will be printing a collection of these strips in a few weeks.  It will be about 30 strips, along with a bunch of concept art, pin-ups and the test strips I did originally for the series.  I want to actually have a finished book this time for the convention I helped start, lol!    So if anyone is interested in purchasing one, please let me know, and I’ll put you on my list (the list of people that are AWESOME!!!)

I appreciate everyone visiting and reading this story!  You all are loved!
