This week is going to be fun. I’ve been really inspired about this storyline. This week will wrap up the first chapter of the comic, and I’ll be collecting that with some other goodies in a book for the West Texas Comic Con. I hope this strip wasn’t confusing to anyone. I wanted it to sneak up on you in a good way. I can’t wait to show the rest of this weeks comics!
Originally, I had planned to have Potato be a basset hound, based on my old dog Princess Gwenivere. But there is already a famous webcomic hound over at Scott Kurtz’ PVP, and my second favorite dog is the bull dog. So much personality and so much fun to draw. I can’t wait to get into his character. Gwen was a pretty ornery old dog. Seemed like all she did was eat and sleep and groan. I always wondered if maybe she had a really active dream life and how funny that might be in a story. We’ll see if I can pull it off.

Love LOVE LOVE today’s strip. If someone were to hold a gun to my head and tell me to draw a Bulldog sinking through water, I would tell them to just pull the trigger.
Love the water effects, love the lightening colors as Tater sinks into dreamland.
HAHA! Strangely enough, the hardest part for me on this was NOT the bulldog but the stupid carpet! It took me forever to figure out how to make it look right.
Very nice touch, experimenting with the layout. I am a sucker for anything that has to do with dreaming, but it certainly helps when the artwork is freakin’ amazing! I also enjoy the subtle, but perfect lighting of the room being lit up by the TV. Looking forward to the next one for sure Will. Keep Dreaming Potato!
