I love Texas. And I love all the characters that inhabit this great state. Some people may complain about her little quirks and oddities. But I thing that makes her more fun to be around. Especially if you’re a writer, its nice to be surrounded by so many colorful characters. I am really looking forward to coloring this strip with those personalities and details. Today we learn about big Trucks in Texas. If you didn’t already know, people in Texas drive big trucks. VERY BIG trucks. Its just how we roll.
Oh, and today we meet Bob, and Potato. Potato is a bulldog. He’s adorable. I think you’re going to love him.

Not sure if this is considered “Texan” or not……but the first thing I thought of when I saw the “chugga chugga” was my neighbor that loves to rev up his motorcycle. But instead of a GASP! the grumpy old man in me usually says GRRR! Also, I am noticing your thoughtful use of sound words and the way they interact with the environment and situation….very nice touch
Yeah, I don’t much care for loud noises when I’m sleeping either. I can understand why motorcycles are so loud though. It never occurred to me till I was living in California and on the freeway the noise was the only way I knew they were behind me.
I probably recolored that stupid chugga chugga SFX more than anything else on this strip. Lol. It wasn’t thoughtful by the end. Thank you though. I do try to integrate the SFX into the art more and more. It helps that its all hand-drawn. Making digital SFX part of the art is challenging because its so mechanical. But making hand-drawn look readable is almost as much of a challenge. Luckily I’m neurotic so eventually I will figure it out.
